I may be one of the first to test this out....
I bought a data only plan from Freedompop for 4.99, you get first month free:
1 gig data only plan. I think it is $13.99 after that.
Here is the kicker.... you can downgrade to the minimum plan for free and get:
200mb data for life (or so they say)
I tried it in my unlocked AT&T and setup the AP and it worked! Data only though.
It is nice being able to leave your phone and still get notifications, at 4G even! Well spent $5
