HTC M8 - NO SIM DETECTED (Virgin UK)

Hi .. My girlfriend has an M8 on Virgin UK contract.. the 1st M8 they sent her had a fault where the phone wouldn't reconise any SIMs so Virgin sent her another which works fine but did not ask for the faulty phone back so now i have it and am trying to fix this problem ..i already have an M8 of my own too.

Here's what i did so far:
Unlocked Bootloader
Sunshine S-Off'd
Changed CID to SuperCID

The phone is now updated to latest Marshmallow 6.0 (Sense 7.0)

I was thinking about just flashing the phone but i dont know which FW or RUU to use .. i want it on O2 UK really a i am with GiffGaff network.

I have tried all the various SIM NOT DETECTED suggestions (toggle airplane mode, tape on sim etc) the phone says no SIM on the toolbar but when i take thee tray & SIM out of the phone i get a pop up message saying NO SIM DETECTED so something is working right?
