Hi there all,

Finally yesterday i've installed and started Remix OS x64 on my pc in dual boot with Windows 10 x64 with EFI bios and boot configured with easyUEFI and modified grub.cfg



Here my configuration:

NUC: NUC6i5SYH
BIOS: 0044
RAM: 16GB: 2 x Kingston HyperX Impact DDR4 2133MHz PC4-17000 8GB CL13
SATA HDD: Seagate 500GB ST9500420AS (0006HPM1) with Windows10 Home Premium x64 dualboot Remix OS 64 (B2016042001)
USB 3.0 HDD: WesternDigital 320GB WD3200BEVT-22ZCT0 (11.01A11) with Ubuntu Mate 16.04 x64
MOUSE AND KEYBOARD: Logitech K270
MONITOR: Samsung SmartTV 32" UE32H5570SS

(Boot via usb or sd is too slow and laggy)

The system is working but i have no sound neither via hdmi or jack. Sound is on and set to top.

Do anyone have the same pc or know how can i solve it?

my htc desire 510 power button no notification sound?

Hi

i'm using htc desire 510, i usually get a notification sound when i press and hold the power button to power off or restart my phone because i set it in setting, personalize, notification sound but recently i don't hear it anymore when i go to notification sound to check it still the same when i'm at notification sound i can select the sound that i want hear sound been play but when i try again to press and hold the power button the notification sound did not come on. is there anyway to fix this?

Carrier Unlocking

I dropped and cracked the screen on my Photon Q. :crying: It works but it keeps acting like the screen is touched where the crack is.

I ordered a replacement on ebay and received it. I rooted it with Kingroot. It is running Android 4.1.2.

I called Red Pocket Mobile to have them activate the device on my account, but they said they could not until Sprint unlocks it. :crying:Sprint customer service tells me they cannot unlock, unless I have the following: :crying:

1. account number attached to the device (:confused: )
2. account holder's name ( )
3. account holder's password, or the last 4 digits of their SSN ( )
4. IMEI or MEID (found both under settings )
5. phone number attached to device

There is a phone number in the device settings. When I enter that into Sprint's customer service phone robot, she does not recognize the number. So, I am assuming the person has moved their number to some other company. ( )


Suggestions / solutions?


Could I somehow move the software and settings from the cracked one to the new one? Some kind of bit-by-bit clone or something?

Does anyone know of a leather case for the Nexus 5x that does not cover the display

The title pretty much says it all, I'm getting a Nexus 5x in a few days and I'm looking for a nice case to protect it.

I was looking for a leather case that only covers the back of the phone because I don't like those bookstyle things with a flap covering the front.
So basically I'm looking for a nice and thin case (like this http://ift.tt/1WWA0EM) but made from leather (or at least something that looks and feels like leather). I know that cases of this type are available for the iPhone because I've seen them around my university but i couldn't find anything like it for the Nexus.

Will I get the music files in my device storage back if i restore my TWRP backup?

I have backed up data, system, cache, boot using by twrp recovery. And later I had to wipe off my device storage completely which included some important personal files and some music recordings. So my question is, Will I get those files back if I restore my twrp backup? Please help.!

Trying to find android wear user statistics

Hi all!

I'm been searching on google for quite a while, but can't find any information in regards to the number of active android wear users. I'd also like to know advanced information such as how much is spent on android wear apps etc as I'm thinking of developing a game for the platform. It would also be handy to have the same statistics for the apple watch if possible. Does anyone have any idea where I can find the data I'm looking for?

How?
We will use the "pm set-install-location" line to make the device install all the applications from the Google Play Store to the SD Card.

Let's begin!
1.You will need to have root and busybox installed.

Busbox will be installed when you root
2. You need to go to the Google Play Store and search for "Terminal Emulator Android" or follow this link: http://ift.tt/1Urt7HY

-Now, after you install it, you need to give it root permisions, you can go that by launching a new terminal window and typing: "su" (without the brackets), then SuperSU will ask iff you want to grant or deny acces (You want to grant that).
-Now you will need to insert the following: "pm get-install-location" (without brackets).
0=Automatic/1=Internal/2=External (SD-Card)
-We want to set the location to External or 2, we're going to do this by typing this: "pm set-install-location 2" (without brackets).
-If everything worked fine you shouldn't see any visual response (a line that says that it succeseded), and if everything was fine you need to proceed by typing "exit" and then "reboot".
If everything worked well every app from the Google Play store should be installed on your SD Card.

Can my SD Card not Edit

Since I have XZ I can edit the SD card as I want. Whether Sony original firmware or Rome from JB- MM. Yesterday I installed the 228 per Flashtool and now I can no matter what is on the device, the SD card does not work. No copying, no deletion, move none, nothing. SD Fix does not work. tries with the terminal and no success. Does anyone have any idea why that has always worked and now suddenly no longer.

CyanogenMod 13 for I9506 - Cant boot

Hi guys. I have S4 i9506 codname ks01lte (i think) and i cant boot any of nightly avalible right now. All time stuck on CyanogenLogo. I tried flash stock, flash other roms, flash TWRP and still the same. Can anyone help?
Tried Wipe of everythink, including internal SD, cache, dalvik. Tried install only CM base, tried CM+gapps and the same. Few months ago it was working fine now just cant run it. Friend have the same Mobile device, the same ROM, recovery, Modem, Firmware and it boots normally. Also i have problem with some CM-base cutsom roms, some boot, some not. Normally it boots up to 3 mins, now i can wait half an hour or more and still Cyanogen Logo.

Unable to flash custom ROM on HTC One M9

Please help.

I unlocked the bootloader of my HTC One M9, flashed the TWRP recovery, and tried to flash a custom ROM.
Now my phone won't boot. I have tried various other ROMs, each time that I flash a new ROM, I have to flash the boot.img again, and then the phone just gets stuck on the boot screen with the HTC logo (or custom logo from the ROM).
Only the boot.img from cyanogenmod works, if I flash any other boot.img, even the one from the ROM I flashed, the device just boots to the bootloader each time.

OTG Question HELP!

I have connected an OTG cable to my device, I also have a powered USB hub connected to the other end of the OTG cable, When I try using a male to male USB cable to go from the USB hub to my computer my phone does not talk to the computer. Can I by making a special cable, have my phone talking to the computer and OTG?

HTC 526G+ Taiwan Stock Rom

Hey Guys,


I realized that the Indian stock ROM for htc 526g+ doesn't work well for the Taiwan devices experiencing stuff like overheating , blank screens and camera not starting well for some apps like Snap chat.:p

So i could successfully get the stock rom files from my friend using nandroid backup :

~ Recovery . img
~ uboot . img
~ Boot . img


So now i need help on how to use this files to work on the htc 526g+ taiwan because the device doesnt have a custom recovery nor can the bootloader can be unlocked in some devices

HDX AT&T email not deleting

Hello..this might be a simple fix for most but not very tech savvy :D
I use both AT&T and Gmail for emails. The AT&T email constantly asks me to sign in, more than once a day, and when I delete or move an email, it reappears after a few seconds. The gmail works fine and it works fine on pc and cell so something isn't right on the kindle. Thanks for any help..I had this happen several months ago, called Amazon and they fixed it but I just don't like calling them..they're hard to understand and SLOW! Then I had one of those bugs that freeze your device, had to deregister device, etc, and it started happening again after about a month.

LG G2 Marshmallow System UI Bootloop

Hi,

When i wanted to modify the navigation bar to add a new layout, the error "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped" appeared and restarted the entire phone's UI, giving that error back and forth and not allowing me to interact with it.

I rebooted the phone hoping that it will get fixed but no luck, it keeps showing that error and i can't even get to the main screen.

I can still access to recovery, but i don't know which file holds the settings for the part i modified.

Can you help me to solve this?

[HELP] In call volume is too low or inaudible and Mic. is also has a problem

Hey, i have a problem with Z2 that the incall volume is too low or inaudible... i don't know why is this?? :confused: :confused:
I'm using Existenz Marshmallow 2.0 latest without any modifications.. so is there is any tweak or flashable zip or anything that increase the incall volume and make it clear????? :confused:

Another problem that alot of people had told me that they cannot hear my voice clearly so what is the problem?? is there is anything to improve my mic.??

Notes: (A) The problems still appear in the two cases of each of that:
1- Checking or Unchecking for Microphone noise suppression.
2- Checking or Unchecking for Speaker voice enhancement.
(B) The problem of incall volume and mic. not a hardware problem because it appear in some roms and it be solved completely in other roms like Existenz v1.0.5 4.4 [KK] so it's a software problem

So is there is any solution for incall volume and Mic. ?? Please help!!!!! :mad:

Lost data on calls.

Have 4g when not on call. 1x on call. I have a us unlocked running on verizon. Latest twrp. Have tried Venom and ice. Loafing leesroid now to try. Advanced calling also messed up. I have no wifi calling option. Called verizon and all turned on. Have tried format data. Not sure what to try next. I'm s-off and unlocked. Any ideas?

[Q] Keeps restarting, unable to hard reset, keep returning to previous state

Hi all,

I have an AT&T used in Australia (not with AT&T anymore) The phone keeps crashing and reboots randomly. I tried to do factory reset but keeps failing. It always returns to the previous state. Even when I tried to uninstall some apps, deleted the files (images, video, document) it reboots and returns to the previous state complete with the deleted apps and files.
I tried soft reset, hard reset. I tried both from fastboot and recovery still failed. I tried flashing RUU, it rebooted in the middle of the process and backed to previous state.

Anyone has idea?

WiFi does not work properly when Bluetooth is turned ON

Some weeks I have a BT device when connected to my N5 (6.0.1 - MOB30H), and I noticed that the Wifi is with many problems (do not connect to wifi; when connected, do not down/up or is very slow) and immediately after I turn off BT, everything returns to normal.
Already tested with other BT devices and the problem persists. Even if without any connected device, the simple fact of turning on the BT is cause the malfunction of WiFi.
I've tried wipe and the problem persisted.
Does anyone have the same problem? Any solution? :confused:

i just bought Huawei mate 8 , model : NXT-AL-10.

When im "Killing" all apps and cleaning the ram . whatsapp stops getting new messages , only when the app is open at the background .

Auto start is enabled , also push notifications enabled . looked around on the internet and saw that other people had this problem but didn't find a solution .

other apps works fine .... like Gmail or Facebook .

Before do everything i checked the IMEI displayed and it was the same of the sticker behind battery (it was ok) and i saved the original firmware code .

The phone was working properly with an uk sim , so i didn't think that it was sim locked .

I rooted the phone and made a backup with CWM.
After i saw the last release of cyanogenmod 12.1 , i flashed TWRP and CM12.1.
I didn't try with sim inserted at the beginning . After all wipes the system was unstable (reboot , black screen etc ) .
So i tried to flash the Resurrection Remix (last release) that worked better .
With the last rom i tried 2 sims (perfect working in other two phones) and both are not recognized (no sim icon).
No message for unlock the phone on starting was displayed!

I thought at that moment that probably the phone could have some problem with flashed roms.
I decided to reflash CWM and restore the original firmware from backup . The problem persisted (no sim ).
So i found the original rom on sammobile and flashed it . No sims recognized as well !
Imei was the same with all roms , so i think that the EFS folder is good !

I read a lot and discovered that the sim unlock is stored in a protected memory area , so i think i couldn't delete the unlock . Am i right ?? and i would like to exclude an hardware problem .. because the phone was working properly before the modding!

What could I do for resolve this problem? The phone is not mine and i'm so sorry to have made a mess!

[Q] Bluetooth will not connect to other phones

My moto g (2nd) gen's bluetooth is very strange. It will connect to my car's bluetooth and my bluetooth speakers just fine, but when I try to connect it to other phones it fails to connect. It can pair with them just fine, but when I tap on their name to connect with them the my phone indicates "connecting" then "connected" then after about 1/2 a second disconnects. I've tried wiping the cache but that didnt seem to work. Any ideas?

Lenovo A816 Rooting

Hello. Could anyone help me with rooting this phone? I have tried all the once click apps out there and I've tried the computer based ones too. My phone is Lenovo A816. Its in Chinese, but English language is installed. Could I put a custom rom on it too? Please help. Starting to think its impossible to root this phone. New kernel (from May 13th, used in AEROM and Darksense 2.0.x) cannot access SD card?

Hi!
I could not post this to the Development forum (new member :) so I'll try it here:
I've installed the DarkSense ROM 2.0.1 which is using a new kernel (extracted from AEROM v2). After fullwipe and install, the system cannot use the SD card anymore. At system start, it tells the SD card is damaged --> select "Portable Storage" and format SD card --> still shows as defect after format.
I've already tried to change filesystem to FAT, exFAT, EXT3, EXT4 using TWRP and reboot afterwards--> all show the same error.
I am using the following card: Kingston SDCA3/128 GB microSDXC (UHS-I U3)
I now flashed back Eragon ROM v2 and all is working well again with the SD card.
So question is: what is responsible for this behaviour? New kernel possibly? Anybody tried the new kernel (either AEROM v2 or DarkSense 2.0.1) with an SD card?

Strange Problem!!! I cant get calls sometimes, but i have signal?!!?

Completely Dead P8000 - any help much appreciated

Hi all,

Sorry for such a depressing first thread! Had my P8000 for about a year with no real major issues. I did root it, so SPFlashTool all worked fine and I know how to use and I took it to bits about 3 months ago to fix the headphone jack. The other day, I took the MicroSD out, copied some files across to it and put it back in. When I checked the phone 5 mins later is was dead dead. No LED, no response to vol up/down and power, no charging no nothing. So I can't get to the recovery bootloader screen.

Tried connecting to charger for ages, nothing happened.

Tried SPFlashTool but no USB noise from Windows and no response from phone. Tried another Windows PC with new drivers, same.

Tried disconnecting battery. Still completely dead and no response what-so-ever.

Anyone have any ideas (no matter how simple it sounds) of what to do next?

moto x 2014 not booting, struck in os starting screen

in my moto x 2014, i try to change the stock rom to custom rom, i used phill recovery method to install the os. every thing was done successfully installed including gapps. when i restart the mobile the screen struck in the os screen (for eg. for ressurrection remix os, the screen struck in the resurrection remix start page) and it didnt go inside the mobile.

So - got the official OTA to B211 Android 6.

Now google contacts won't sync. I have installed the contact sync app from the HiApp store.. It says they are synced in the account settings for my gmail account.

HTC M8 - NO SIM DETECTED (Virgin UK)

Hi .. My girlfriend has an M8 on Virgin UK contract.. the 1st M8 they sent her had a fault where the phone wouldn't reconise any SIMs so Virgin sent her another which works fine but did not ask for the faulty phone back so now i have it and am trying to fix this problem ..i already have an M8 of my own too.

Here's what i did so far:

Sunshine S-Off'd
Changed CID to SuperCID

The phone is now updated to latest Marshmallow 6.0 (Sense 7.0)

I was thinking about just flashing the phone but i dont know which FW or RUU to use .. i want it on O2 UK really a i am with GiffGaff network.

I have tried all the various SIM NOT DETECTED suggestions (toggle airplane mode, tape on sim etc) the phone says no SIM on the toolbar but when i take thee tray & SIM out of the phone i get a pop up message saying NO SIM DETECTED so something is working right?

[Q] Xperia Sola with Slimkat 9 ROM stuck on blank screen after SlimKat Logo.

So i recently flashed my Sola (Rooted, Bootloader unlocked) with the Slimkat 9 ROM using Flashtool. It went smooth. When I booted the phone it was suck on a blank screen. I tried everything but the phone just wouldn't budge from that screen. It stayed like that until the battery drained out. Now no matter what I do, (charge it, try to get into recovery/fastboot, connect it to the pc) only thing it does is get stuck on the same screen.
I thought i would flash the stock firmware but then the piece of shizz doesn't boot into recovery so can't do that either.

Help anyone?

4 LTE in u.s.?

I believe this phone is capable of using LTE in the US. It has all the right frequencies so I would believe the hardware should be there. I've tried several different APN settings and called customer service to confirm my IMEI with AT&T customer service but I cannot get LTE speeds. Anyone else in the u.s. experiencing the same problems?

Lockscreen not showing Album Art

hello everyone. I am back on Android after using the initial HTC M7 for an year and then migrating back to iOS. With new nothing new on iOS atleast for an year and the fact that my i6 broke, i thought it was the perfect time to try Android in its new avatar. Used the LG G5 for a week, but then shifted to S7 Edge (this phone felt a bit premium and had a bigger screen). I would like to tell Android certainly feels liberating after iOS. I can download torrents, stream stuff, customize my phone etc. Overall feels good.

Anyway too much of history. It would be great if members can help me with two things. First I just cant get albumArt of Now Playing music on my lock screen. It just shows a widget. The LG G5 used to show the full Album Art so I realize its not a Marshamallow issue but Samsung specific. So guys please help me in getting back the album art. Some blogs suggested changing the launcher, but then that disables fingerprint unlock.

Second is my Standby time. There is a considerable battery drain when phone is idle. Is this normal for android? I know my iPhone would hardly sip battery when in standby. Anything i can do to improve this? Furthermore can someone give a ball park figure of percentage dip in standby for an hour.?

Phone in recovery after failed system upgrade!

Hi guys!
On a HTC Desire 626g dual sim, tonight there was a system upgrade. I did the upgrade but something went wrong and the phone does not start anymore.

Specifically, whatever you do, your phone boots into recovery "<3e>" even though I did the factory reset or if I reboot.

When the phone reboot, appear:

NO COMMAND.

If I push the lock button:

ANDROID SYSTEM RECOVERY < 3e >

Volume up/down to move highlight: enter button to select.

- REBOOT SYSTEM NOW
- APPLY UPDATE FROM ADB

Google play services constantly being removed

Got an iDeaUSA CT740K tablet with missing Google play services. I wasnt even able to sing into any google account because of the missing google play services. However, I found an APK version of the services for the tab and installed it. It fixed the problem, well, for a while. Whenever i install the apk it fixes the problem and i am able to download stuff from google play, however, google play services remove from itself after about 10-20min and i cant download anything from google play again. I tried to move the apk into root/system/apps but it didnt help (the device is rooted). I wanted to flash gapps but i dont have a custom recovery (cant do it with the stock one, as it seems) to do it so, because there isnt any available yet. Also, there isnt a stock firmware available so cant re-flash it over the current one. I tried factory reset and erased internal memory but didnt help. I even removed rood (unrooted the device), same.

There are 3 games from fox which appear on the tab even after being uninstalled. I assume that the tablet cough some viruses and they are the reason for this happening.

If someone has a solution, feel free to share it

USB Not Working in Any Mode

I can not get my device to show up in almost every mode via usb. The ONLY thing that works, is, from recovery, choosing apply update from adb. Then, I can see the device as sideload with adb devices, but every command results in "error: closed"

When just in recover, download mode, or powered on, the device will not be recognized. I have tried Windows and Linux mint on my computer, as well as another mac computer, all with 3 different high quality cables that work fine for other devices.

In windows, device manager shows the error "Device descriptor request failed". This all started out of nowhere the other day.. I had it connected via mtp, it disconnected and reconnected itself a few times, then quit working all together.

I've tried HTC sync manager, as well as standalone drivers, but I doubt it is any computer issue since i have tried multiple OSs annd computers....

Any ideas? I'm trying to backup some files and finally get this thing running something other than stock.

[OnePlus2][CM13] Cannot start phone

Hey there,
I installed CM13 on my OP2 a few days ago and it worked fine.
Today I accidentally restarted my phone into the fastbootmode and wanted to exit. So I kept holding the power button.
Well, it shutted down. But I can't start it anymore. If it's not charging nothing happens by holding the power button. If the charging cable is plugged in, it vibrates after a while like usual and then the OnePlus Symbol appears for about half a second and then the phone dies again.
Can you guys help me out getting my phone up again?
By the way: I'm completely new with rooting, flashing & xda, so please help me if I've done anything wrong :angel:

LG G5 WiFi Greyed After Update

Hey guys!

As the titles says, I updated my G5 H831 (Canada, Fido) yesterday and the wifi stopped working. The slider is greyed out and will not turn on. When I tap the slider to enable wifi it slides over, but after exiting the settings app and reopening, it reverts to the greyed out off position. I've already tried and factory reset, battery pulls etc. Does anyone have any info on this or have had similar experiences?

Outdoors brightness issue!

Hello everyone, I've noticed recently that whenever my phone is under direct sunlight, the screen doesn't get as bright as before, in fact it's barely visible with auto and maximum brightnes. I also noticed that the "Optimized for outdoors visibility" (sort of) is no longer mentioned under the brightness slider.
I haven't modified my phone nor flashed any custom kernel, it's running the latest officially available XEF firmware.
I've done tests under the *#0*# menu and the sensor seems to be working just fine reacting to changes, also was using Samsung good lock and though it was the culprit so I removed it but the issue remains. So I really have no idea what might be the problem here, any advice guys :/ ? Thanks!!

Fire TV - using Micro SD to store movies

Will a micro sd card work as a general external storage drive in the Fire TV box. I have lots of movies and mp3's which I plan to transfer to the card. Could I use VLC or similar media player to play these over kodi on the box. I know there is a limit of 128Gb card size but are there any other formatting issues or restrictions? Is it just a case of copying the files to the card on my pc and inserting it into the box. Thanks

[Q] Back Ups with HTC Sync Manager

Hi,

I need help!

I made a back up of my HTC M8 Lollipop on May 21 and then upgraded to Marshmellow to see if it will resolve some battery and bluetooth issues i have been experiencing.

Then tonite I connected the M8 back to the Sync Manager and got a message that because the device was factory reset, it asked if I would like to create a new back up.

So I did, but apparently it wiped out my May21 back up???

How can I get that back up back? :confused:

The Marshmellow version im running now has only basic apps so I can get a baseline battery life and bluetooth testing.

Appreciate any help.

What are my options for a HTC One M7 Dual Sim (802D / M7CDWG) HBOOT 2.49.0000

I got my hands on an Indian HTC One M7 with dual sim (802D / M7CDWG) and currently HBOOT 2.49.0000.

I would like to flash a custom rom OR turn it into GPE if that is possible, but couldnt find any informations.

Its currently s-on, is a s-off possible with this HBOOT Version?

If nothing else is possible i'd just like to install a custom recovery and root that thing and customize the preinstalled rom.

Would be cool if someone who knows smth about it can tell me what is possible and maybe how to approach it.

Battery life on MM!!

This is pretty impressive. I upgraded about a week ago. Yesterday I started off at 100% around 10am. I pulled a muscle in my foot, so I am pretty laid out atm. I spent the day on the couch with my tablet. Played a few card games with my wife and daughter. Still, look at this usage. 4 hours 20 min screen on time, and I still have 43% left. Look at the periods where the device is idle. I go to bead with 50%, and wake up with 49%. Pretty amazing economy imo.. Love this device.

[CM13]E-mail app blank content

I have been using CM for years. Since I flashed CM11 to my SGS4, I noticed that email app won't work. It does sync but when I tap an email it's just blank page with circle that tells me it's loading. But when I tap and hold somewhere on that blank page it shows me that cut copy select all options. I copied and pasted somewhere and I saw my email already loaded but app just won't show me at all. I'm using a Nexus 4 with CM 13 and it still happens! I googled it but couldn't find thing so I'm asking to you guys. What is the problem? Also I can't even login to my Gmail via this app. Google sends me an email that someone tries to reach my account. I can only use my Hotmail and this happens. Hope there is a fix. :rolleyes:

Softbrick galaxy s2

A friend of mine soft-bricked his old galaxy s2.

The phone is running a custom android 5.1 or 6.0 (I don't remember) that i flashed for him a few months ago.
He said he just disabled the google app (not sure why he did that) and the phone crashed and is now stuck in a bootloop.

Anyway I'm trying to enable the app back and hopefully fix the phone without having to wipe everything and flash back the system.

Does anyone know how/if it's possible from an adb shell in recovery mode ?
I tried the pm command but it just crash in recovery, probably because android is not running.
Maybe i could make it work with a chroot or something. No idea how to do that on android though.

Battery error when smartphone unplugged

Hi everyone!
I have a problem with battery in my htc m8
When I stay in boot loader the smartphone remain powered on, as soon as I reboot and enter the rom (or stock) the phone turn off.
If the smartphone remain plugged with micros usb there aren't any problem and I can use normally the phone.
It seems a battery that is broken but when I open the bootloader, the smartphone works even without plugged.

Flashed stock Lollipop 5.1.1 ROM using ODIN, Device binary & status are CUSTOM? Help!

Hey guys! First time poster!

A few months back, I tried using CF-Auto root in order to gain root access on my phone, but I flashed something incorrectly and I was never able to get root working correctly. I know because of this, I tripped KNOX, and whenever I rebooted, there was a "Set Warranty Bit: Kernel" at the top of the device.

Due to the recent Marshmallow 6.0.1 upgrade, I want to unroot and get stock firmware, so I decided to do some research and go ahead and try to flash the stock G900T 5.1.1 FOJ4 firmware (tar.md5 file), so I can get my ability to update my phone via OTA updates. I looked up my matching firmware (FOJ4) through Android File Host and then unzipped it to my desktop.

I followed a guide and used ODIN 3.10.7 to flash the stock firmware file onto my phone. I also wiped cache/ factory reset before and after flashing the stock image.
Everything went well and I no longer see the "Set Warranty Bit: Kernel" when I boot. The problem I have is that when I go into download mode, the CURRENT BINARY and SYSTEM STATUS are both CUSTOM.

I was under the impression as long as you flash a stock firmware to your device, you will unroot and your device will be official, and then you'll be able to do OTA updates. Maybe its because I have KNOX tripped? Maybe can someone clarify that for me?

My main questions/concerns are:
1.) Is there anyway to make my device status/binary as OFFICIAL, in order to regain OTA updates?
2.) If I want to download the 6.0.1 Marshmallow update, should I just try through KIES or downloading the tar.md5 file to flashing via ODIN like I did with stock?
3.) Will there be any risk of bricking since my device is still "custom", if I go the above route?
4.) As a last ditch effort, should I just try downloading a different stock Lollipop firmware, and try flashing with ODIN again?
5.) What does this sub think of Marshmallow 6.0.1 update? Is it worth it?

Why won't my external battery charger work first time on my s7?

Hi, I recently bought an external battery charger and it will only register and charge my s7 if I plug something else in before. I have tried an iPhone 6, my nexus tablet, and my old nexus phone, and the pack works first time and perfectly on all of them. Is this a software/hardware issue with my s7 or an app issue (though all my apps are the same on my old nexus phone)?

Quick Question: Over/Underclocking is it possible?

Hello, just like the title says I want to know if over clocking or more specifically under clocking is possible. The reason being is if I want my phone to save some extra battery I would like to be able to under clock it, I am not a performance app user so I think receiving and sending text and calls would be fine with an under clocked CPU, I was trying to find if anyone had answered this but I couldn't find anything useful. Tv box rom for i9505

Hello, im wondering if anyone can point me in a direction of what I would like to do.
I have a Galaxy S4 GT-i9505 with broken touch which is currently set up with custom rom and root and various apks, pkugged in to my tv in the bedroom via mhl. This works extremely well as is a quad core phone I get much better performance than I do with the Amazon fire stick.
Now the apps ive used along with the custom rom basically put the screen to sleep and allow me to watch Netflix/Kodi very well, without any battery drain.
Im using various apps to control this and alter screen orientation when needed, using a fire tv Bluetooth controller.
Now this set up doesnt come without problems, which ill not go into in length but point out the main issues id either like to be fixed or gone with a different rom.
First, is there any android tv box/stick rom that is compatable with i9505? Even like a fire tv port or similar?
If not is there any way I can get the TV type apps to recognise fully the Bluetooth fire tv remote im using?
Is there anyway to make the apps im using run as if they were on an android tv box/stick?
I realise this is quite a strange setup/request but id like to know if anyone has any ideas on the topic.
1 thing to know, the rom im using has power options to draw more ma while plugged into mhl (700ma), this stops the battery drain.

Periscope encoding is bad on OPT

Hello !

I'm using Periscope sometimes and now I have my OP2, I just can't do Periscope for the only reason that: The render is very slow it looks like if there is a framerate of 4 ips, and bitrate close to 50 kbps. This is just unwatchable. I can also add that there is a lag of 5 seconds or more.

I have an OPT A2003, and before I was using a Wiko Highway 4G, this is a bad phone, but for Periscope it was amazing.

Maybe OnePlus should update his drivers?

If someone has an idea on how to solve this problem, I'm listening.

Need help "preserving" an SM-G900T in a few different ways

I feel super awkward and a bit embarrassed to ask this question, but I'm asking for help from this community (see last 2 or paragraphs for ask if you want to skip the boring details) and I think I need to explain briefly why to define my ultimate goal and why I even have to ask rather than sift through searches and assemble the steps/versions I need, etc.

My 22 year old daughter died recently (unexpectedly). I obviously want to preserve everything I can of hers, but I'm not firing on all cylinders mentally. I was able take her ThinkPad and virtualize it to my ESX system and also yank and clone the physical drive for safe keeping. But even doing that took me a while (which it shouldn't, that's kind of what I do for a living - I should be able to do that in my sleep, but it took 3 days and a lot of screaming). I was able to access her google accounts, facebook accounts, etc. and preserve a ton of stuff from there.

Ultimately while I would want to do with her phone the same thing I did to her notebook - preserve it virtually so I could examine it without fear of changing/modifying anything, but I don't think the product exists that allows me to virtualize an existing Android phone with apps and everything intact into a PC environment. I think I could install a whole new Android emulator in Windows, but that's not probably what I want.

I had just given her a Samsung S5 SM-G900T running on Ting for her birthday about 2 weeks before she died. It was unlocked but unrooted, it's rare that I would do nothing to the phone prior to giving it to her - but I pretty much just turned it on and handed it over with no custom ROM or anything - mostly because I was pressed for time the day of her party and it was shipped late.

When I got it back from the police a few say ago (they held it for 2 months) and charged it and turned it on 2 days ago, it upgraded from Lollipop to Marshmallow 6.0.1 (baseband is PE1), which was apparently pending. I don't know if that complicates things. It pissed me off, though. I have copied off local photos off and videos and already took control of her Google and Facebook accounts as I mentioned.

My slightly confused brain tells me normally I might install TWRP or CWM and make a NAND backup and copy it off someplace and at least have a restorable copy of her phone. I haven't done much of this sort of thing with phones for a year or two, I don't know what's changed in the latest OS versions and beides, plus I sort of "lose it" a bit, especially going through her personal things.

I'm not an idiot, I'm just not all here, yet. I'm asking if someone can please give me steps to safely preserve an image of her phone (IE, install TWRP or CWM using specific version xxx, etc., using Odin version xxx, etc.) - If I can virtualize it, too, I'd love to know what product does that, but again, I don't think I can.

I don't know why I feel the need to do these things, I just do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

NVRAM and IMEI error

Every time I install Stock ROM using (YGDP tool) or any custom ROM using TWRP/Philz Recovery after a first reboot, I face problem with WIFI and GSM Network connections due to NVRAM and IMEI issue. Stock ROM has MTK Engineering, using which I can fix IMEI issue but all custom ROM do not have engineering mode. Can anyone please help with this issue? Any help is very much appreciated.

Note: I know there is a patch "Nitro Baseband and IMEI Patch.zip" from Pinto Thakur is available but unfortunately does not work all the time. :(

Remix Os on PC ... App periscope ?

Hello,
I tested this superb and new OS on a PC ASUS N61-JQ but apparently
the application "Camera" seems not to work with the integrated camera!
Yet it seems that the latter works on Skype but the picture is completely up upside down. I think this must be a driver problem.
Both PERISCOPE has all functions of the app seems to work except the video streaming makes the application crash.
Is there a solution to run on PERISCOPE REMIX OS?

[Q] How to merge various system_*.img files?

Hello.

I have a Lenovo Vibe K5 (A6020L36 model), and as many people, I want root and, if possible, a custom recovery and custom ROM.

So, the first step was find and download a stock ROM and flashing program, this is already done. But the ROM comes with several "system.img" files (system_1.img, system_2.img, and so on until system_39.img), some of them have several megabytes in size, and others have only 8kb. I need to merge them to get one system.img to edit, but all process I tried failed.

First, I tried the command "copy /b system_1.img+system_2.img+etc", and get a system.img about 2Gb in size, but the file is somehow corrupt:

• When I extract it with unyaffs, I only get the "app" and "lost+found" folders;
• When I navigate the remaining folders with EXT2 Explorer, I can see the remaining folders, but they are empty;
• When I try to open with EXT4 Unpacker, it gives an error about 'list index out of bounds';
• The same happens if I use the command but ignoring the 8kb files.

When I open only system_1.img in EXT4 Unpacker, it comes with same error. With EXT2 Explorer, I again can see all the folders, but except for 'app' folder, all others are empty. The others system files appears blank in both programs.

Then, I tried to use this tool, but it gives the same error at post #8 (tried with Win10 64bits and Win7 32bits, both as administrator).

The stock recovery don't have an option to make a backup, then I tried to launch a TWRP recovery made by another user, but gives an error 'dtb not found'.

Tried also the adb 'dd' command, wich comes with a 'permission denied' error, because don't have root. The flashing programs (QFIL and others Qualcomm programs) appears to don't have a backup option for system partition, only for nvram stuff.

I stucked now, I can't find a way to generate a single and valid system.img. Any ideas to get it? Attached are some usefull files to look at, I think. I also have the stock boot.img and recovery.img.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advice.

Bootloop on lg logo with secure Error

My d802 was bricked and i could debrick it. I flashed official stock kk from lg. Everything worked. I rooted it... Ok. I wanted to flash twrp recovery... Ok. But when i rebooted my phone i had bootloop on black screen with lg logo with Security Error.
I tried to switch again the connectors as i did but no success.

/sdcard undetected,empty and unuseable

Hello,
My Moto E 4G (XT 1524) was on Cyanogenmod 13 yesterday but I decided to test AICP just by curiosity. I flashed the ROM and GAPPS as I do everytime (clean install on squid's TWRP). Once I first boot on the ROM, it works well but the problem is everything is stored on my external sd card. For example : I don't have any content in my /sdcard folder, only a "TWRP" folder, but no "Music", "Movies", "Images", "DCIM" etc.... Actually the "DCIM" and "Android" folder are on the External sd :confused:
I keep on reinstalling eveything, even TWRP but nothing repairs my problem...
If you have any suggestions to help me resolve this, it would be great. Thank you ! :)

Problem with sold cell phone, please help.

Hi, i sold my old phone and forgot to disable the account security, i used factory reset before giving it to the buyer, now the person i sold it can't use it because it's asking for my google account after the reset. Is there any way i can disable that phone security from my google account? the buyer says i have to give him my main account (which for obvious personal reasons i don't want to) so he can deactivate it from the phone. How TO USE it :

put the jarvis.mp4 file some where in your
phone (you can use USB cable or FTP
remote manager or etc)
in your phone go to your file manager with
root access (I use Root Explorer)
move jarvis.mp4 file to /system/media

Urbane 2...can you setup for calling without a phone (using a tablet)?

Hi guys!
My phone died so while I get my replacement, I was wondering if I could setup an Urbane 2 with my tablet and still use the phone sync sim card option to use the watch to call. I would think it will be fine but want to make sure.
I am not TOTALLY sold on the looks, specially the band compared to my LG Watch R with my nice band (tan color with black rivets and buckle), but I like the screen and extra features.

Convert Lenovo software to LG, Sony, Samsung, iPhone etc.

Is there anyway to convert the software from a Lenovo K3 Note to another phone model for example LG, Sony, Samsung, iPhone etc.

I have a code that is working properly on the Lenovo k3 Note but I can't get the code to work on other phone models so is there someway to convert this?

The application function is voice recognition converting to text in realtime from a phone call.
