help please

i screwed up i unlocked my bootloader and installed twrp that worked fine reboted into android relocked my bootloader (stupid i know now) phone didnt reboot so i ran the fastboot reboot command now system wont boot stuck on the your password was correct but my data is corrupt screen and when i go to rest the phone it wont boot into recovery just a yellow line flashes and the led comes on white im pretty sure my recovery has been deleted and also running anything in fastboot gives some error about my bootloader being locked

Access BL and stock recovery but stuck in logo

good night. my brother has a moto g on the 5.1 version i guess, never rooted or custom recovery. after a 0% battery and no charge, the device stucked in logo of motorola
the first option is save the device, but data is very important to rescue, so it's priority to me.

the BL was locked, to try flash something i unlock it without loose data, i guess...
i can access BL, 41,1A version. tried fastboot and mfastboot to flash 5.0.2 retail rom and 5.1 stock with no success, boot loop of warning!!
can acess recovery, but can wipe data/factory reset, give a error and boot loop.
adb it's only sideload, and give error of footer, no install any of any file.
on adb apply update from sdcard i can view all my folders that i want to bkp, but how i get them? push and pull doesn't work.

I'm doing something wrong, just do not know what it is...
can someone help me? i read a lot of threads!!

What's the Best Way to Get Into Recovery Mode?

So, this is a really dumb question, but I suppose better to ask than mess something up.

So I finally rooted my Z5 Compact with this excellent guide, and everything went off without a hitch. The guide had me set my bootloader back to "Bootloader unlock allowed" before I was done, which, if I'm understanding things correctly, means that I relocked the bootloader (or at least, it looks locked).

My issue is this. I'd like to install this audio tweak, but the instructions require me to put the device into Recovery Mode (CWM or TWRP or Philz Recovery). First, what's the best way of doing that, and second, is that going to require me re-unlocking my bootloader, or is my bootloader actually already unlocked?If I have to unlock my boot loader again, does that mean I need to restore my DRM keys again?

Okay, so I've never owned an international phone before, but what's the difference between owning a phone like the Oneplus versus owning like a Samsung. Is the band 13 a huge deal? Unlocking More Bands?

Hey!

From what I've read online it looks like all S7 Edges are built identically which means that the bands must be controlled by software. Are there any firmwares, patches, or tricks that enable other bands? I have a Verizon S7 Edge on T-Mobile so I'm mainly looking to unlock band 12. I saw this post: http://ift.tt/2aoNfLM but im not sure if that will unlock the bands or not. VoLTE and WiFi-Calling would be a plus.

S7 edge possible defect question

I just got my second silver s7 edge since my first one had a horrible battery life.

After getting this one and looking in bright light where the phone shines, I notice at the top of the phone under the glass on the edge of the silver foil stuff, it has a wrinkled look across the whole top.

I don't notice it on the bottom which seems to be the same exact dimensions, and also don't notice it on the back.

I tried to take a picture but the picture is very hard to pick up on camera and looks a lot worse in person.

I want to make sure this is normal or not because I didn't remember seeing it on my other s7 edge

Facing issues while flashing stock rom of Lollipop/Marshmallow

Hi..
I am using Moto g 2015.
I unlocked my bootloader,,Flashed cm12.1 and using since 5 months...
Now i got Jio 4g sim and Using it..(India)
Data services is working perfectly..
But i am not getting VolTe sign and even option to enable it anywhere!!
I heard somewhere that we need to flash stock rom to use VoLte feature..
And then I tried to flash stock rom ..
And then i am getting remote failure..
I am starting with
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
And there is remote failure issue with flashing Marshmallow and also while flashing lollipop 5.1.1
I am using XT1550 INDIAN 2GB VERSION..
Issue with Jio4g VOLTE :- I am unable to listen any sound from another while calling over LTE..
I have putted 4g sim on sim slot 1..
Pleaae help me to flash ..

Flashing *any* OS to Soft Bricked Nexus

Here are the cliff notes of what happened:

1) my screen turned off immediately after I entered the password.
2) I dismantled the phone and cleaned all relevant parts, thinking the hardware may be sending a double-click signal when I pressed the button once.
3) Help forums led me to believe the problem was a software malfunction with the front-facing camera: A sensor that interprets darkness to mean the phone was in a pocket and should have a dark screen.
4) I decided to factory reset the device to repair any outstanding software issues.
5) The factory device setup screen loaded... and the screen went dark and would not come back on.
6) I have managed to reach the boot loader. Now I am stuck; I cannot find a way to install a functioning OS.

Back information: A year ago I was running CM12. For the last six months I've been running Kali; I've had a persistant issue being unable to upgrade to Android 5.1 with Kali, so I intended to go back to CM (but 13 this time).

So presently: Factory resetting will not work because the screen goes dark before I finish the prompt. The Boot Loader is open. My computer recognizes the device but I cannot save anything to it (so I can't put a new ROM on it).

Does anyone have any suggestions for this?

App on SD card?

I got my Joying Jeep specific Android 5.1 unit to recognize a 128 GB Samsung EVO card.



What is the best way to get apps to work on it?

Some apps say "Move to SD Card"



And after you move them it shows as "Move to Device"



But on Google Play Music the option to Move to SD Card is grayed out



Another interesting note, the Google Play Music app version on my Joying is the same as the version on my Samsung S7 Edge, but the "Storage Location" option is missing on Joying

[HELP][VS980] LTE/HSPA+ not working

Has anyone gotten LTE/3G working on the VS980 (verizon). I am trying to get it on the fido (canada) network but it only registers the network when I set it to GSM only. I have checked the bands and it is supported. There is no fault with the sim or the network since I get full connectivity on my HTC One.

I have seen some threads saying flash the GSM fix or edit the build prop but none of those have gotten me LTE. I am even fine with getting the 3G working on the device.

Help with Verixon Galaxy Note 2 (US)

I have googled everything I can think of, plus some things I've learned along the way and I am still out of luck. My phone was stock unrooted w/ all OTAs. One day ir just locked up. When I ried to reboot...nothing. Did battery pull...stuck at Samsung logo. I tried wiping the cache, and tried a complete wipe and reboot...still sticks at Samsung logo. I've learned about odin...used 1.85 and 1.07. I've tried to flash all of the following:

Running out of options trying to root SM-G530T

I've been trying to root my GP using the KingRoot and Odin methods, but came out empty with both methods

Summarized attempt
- Installed the newest KingRoot apk into my phone and installed
- Gave me an "Could not find root but try anyways" error and processed
- Finished successfully and confirmed root with Root Checker
- Ran SuperSume Pro and it stalls
- Reset phone and it bricks (infinite T-Mobile opening loop)
- Factory rest using Odin and stock firmware (from samsung-firmware)
- Try using pre rooted firmware (CF Auto Root Fortuna3a and another firmware I found) after, but both failed during the Odin process

If anyone would like me to go into more detail about my attempt, help me through a process, or link me to another root solution I would greatly appreciate it

[TECH DISCUSSION] Is it possible to have a Dash Charge power bank?

So I'm in my junior year of electrical engineering and seeing the incredible things done with smartphones is something I really would like to be a part of one day. I wanted to discuss, considering the limits of current technology, if it would be possible to create a safe Dash Charging power bank for this device? For those who don't know how dash charging works I'll post a few links and my understanding of how it works and if I'm wrong at any point feel free to correct me.

Dash Charging - The Technology
The way dash charging works, as I understand it, is that the USB-C cable wires are made wider in diameter to accommodate a larger amount of current being passed through to the battery. The charger plugged into the wall takes on the burden of the extra voltage pushing the current through the wire and keeping it away from the phone's internal battery (which is brilliant). That means that the charger takes on the extra heat which isn't a problem because passive components are often more tolerant of heat than batteries are.

The Issues
A dash power bank could be charged up exactly like the phone; with the dash charger it could fill extremely fast. However, using the battery pack to charge the phone means that the internal Li-Ion batteries of that charger will be taking on the extra heat from within the case which could:
a) shorten the power bank's life span
b) Possibly lead to unsafe power banks if it got too hot

I also see there being limitations with the power bank's ability to maintain a full speed charge similar to wall charging along with what types of batteries would be needed to provide the power output similar to the dash charger.

The Solutions
So in my limited knowledge I think that the biggest enemy here is heat generated in the power bank. I feel like the rest could be overcome with a fairly large bank of 18650 batteries. It is possible to have a passive cooling system built into the power bank for heat dissipation but that might make the battery bank difficult for users to hold on their Pokemon Go outings. Also, reducing Dash Charging specifications just a little, decreasing the speed at which it could charge the device, would alleviate some of the concern. So while you might not get 60% in 30 minutes from the wall, perhaps aiming for 45-50% charge in that amount of time would increase the power bank lifespan and total amount of charges.

What do you all think? I'll readily admit I don't understand completely how current battery bank internals work to limit over-current and over-voltage scenarios as I've never taken one apart. If anyone wants to educate me and say whether they think Dash Charging is possible I'd love to hear about it. This is the kind of stuff I imagine the OnePlus engineers are sitting around working on every week.

Background:

I'm a developer of some Pokemon Go MITM projects (like http://ift.tt/2aavEZz) and got confronted with the freshly introduced certificate pinning in the newest Pokemon Go version. The native code requests the certificate trust chain of the connection to the API and checks if the certificates are issued by the correct authorities.

To fix that, I simply hooked into com.nianticlabs.nia.network.NianticTrustManager's checkServerTrusted method and made sure that the requested trust chain is always identical to the expected version.

Things I've Learned...

Over the course of the past month and a half, I've tried a total of 8 Samsung Galaxy S7's. I didn't set out to exchange so many phones and I really didn't need the inconvenience of all the swapping involved, much less of all the inspecting, testing and comparing I've done. I'm not a reviewer or a device tester. I'm only someone who wants (and expects) good and consistent quality among relatively expensive products if and when I purchase them.

Having stated the above, I've found that certain variants of the S7 do not perform equally in some ways (such as involving certain SoC functionality). On one model, the API necessary to activate and utilize a certain hardware capability (that's indeed supported by said device's circuitry) is not supported by its factory-flashed firmware. Moreover, there's an absence of information available addressing this issue on the Internet or even from Samsung itself. So it can be quite difficult to gain direction on the possibility of a resolution.

Here's my case in point concerning the above mentioned missing API. While the unlocked US variant of the S7 (i.e., the SM-G930U) genuinely comes with a built-in, fully functional FM broadcast receiver chip, phone buyers are not able to easily access the chip's functionality. I suppose I should clarify by adding that the FM chip would be fully functional if Samsung chose to enable it within the firmware that comes on this model. But they have chosen not to do so and it's not entirely clear why.

I have personally confirmed that the FM chip on the 930U can be activated, and that it will thus receive local FM broadcast signals. One merely need flash a major carrier variant of the S7 firmware onto their 930U. Or at least I can confirm that the SM-G930P (SPR) firmware will achieve this end. That's all it took to get my last 930U up and running on the local FM broadcast band. Once the flash had completed my 930U began receiving local FM radio stations via its headphone jack antenna input and the NextRadio application. Note: I had trouble with the first flash attempt because the stock 930U partition was too small to accept the 930P firmware image and thus required an adjustment.

I personally find it discouraging that Samsung doesn't give owners of the 930U a convenient way to activate the device's built-in FM receiver function. Since it appears there have been no instructions published yet on this topic, 930U owners who want access to the device's FM receiver will have to rely upon the trial and error approach and attempt to resolve the matter with a firmware flash (as I did). I believe it's currently the only option. I'm guessing the reason the receiver is not enabled by default in the factory supplied firmware is because the cellular carriers have no real incentive to request that Samsung incorporate the necessary API component. And Samsung itself obviously doesn't care enough to simply include it. And I suppose Google may fit in there somewhere as well. The result is of course that the average S7 owner is neither supplied with the knowledge nor the choice to enable FM reception on the 930U. Granted, most phone users aren't terribly interested in gaining FM broadcast reception capability. But it can be a big deal for those of us who are.

Yet another difference between the 930U variant and the cellular carrier variants, and even the 930U variant and the international unlocked variant, is that the 930U seems to have a persistent wifi sensitivity issue. That is, the device can't see wifi signals that are below a moderate signal level. This conclusion is based upon my comparative testing of three 930U devices to several 930P devices (Sprint variant), and one 930F device (international unlocked variant). This wifi concern, by the way, is the main reason the 930U has been ruled out as an option for my personal situation. I like the absence of bloatware (well mostly - I want to retain Sprint Zone functionality) and I like the potential for interchangeability between major US cellular carriers, be they GSM or CDMA based. But I can't handle the crippled wifi reception! Any device I use needs to be able to see and establish connections with wifi nodes that produce signals below a moderate level ( i.e., less than -85 dBm) at locations where I may need such capability.

Still further concerns for me are various inconsistencies between new S7's within a single variant group. Some of these inconsistencies include the following: 1. Obvious display color differences (e.g., some S7's produce vivid and bright colors, while others seem to display colors that are noticeably washed out). 2. Some S7 camera's seems to see better in extremely low lighting environments (clearer, brighter detail and less graininess) than do others at the same ambient light levels. 3. Most of the S7's that I've possessed have poorly aligned overlay ports around the front and back camera lenses. In most cases, this is purely an aesthetic annoyance. But for a phone that costs $650 to $700, I personally expect better quality control. 4. On some S7's the very same cellular network signal levels will produce more signal bars than on other S7's.

I understand that issues like the ones I've observed on the S7's I've assessed may be present on mobile devices produced by other manufacturers as well. I have to say, though, that I tend to expect a bit more from a rather expensive device that's touted so highly by so many :mad:

Update cm13 with adopted storage

Yesterday I set up external sd card as internal storage in cm13 in my mother's moto g 2015 because it ran out of space. I use to update her phone once a month doing clean flashes. Before, as it was set up as portable storage, there where no problems with updating nightlies, but now my question is: if I do a clean flash, am I going to need to set up sd card as internal again and reformat it? Or will it automatically recognise the previously formated sd card? Thanks

Any tips to in low-light shooting?

I find the when I shoot in Superior Auto in low-light, many times there appear a violet / bluish haze on the left side (no flash fired). I find that switching to Night Portrait or Night Mode is too much of a hassle, ESPECIALLY when the conditions constantly change like going to a different place that's brightly lit or going inside a restaurant. Also, these modes tend to have motion blur.

Now I'm thinking of Manual Mode but basically got the same results as Superior Auto (probably. I'm just not good at tinkering with the settings).

Any tips?

Can't turn off Camera shutter / Screenshot sound

Since yesterday after I played a whatsapp voice message, I can't turn off the camera shutter and Screenshot sound, even though I have my phone in complete silent mode!
Did anyone ever have this problem with their 6p or know any solution to turn off those sounds?

I allready restarted the phone, uninstalled the camera updates and reinstall from the play store, went into the settings to make sure I was in silent mode, still nothing works!

Unresponsive Touch Screen. Some Ghost Touches.

Hi,
My TF300T stopped responding to my touches and has some ghost touches now occurring just under the ASUS logo in the bezel. Has anyone else experienced this and can offer a fix? Is this a shot digitizer?

FYI, I've tried a cold start, cleaning the screen, and resetting the tablet using the small hole on the left. None of those worked. The track pad still works so I can still use the tablet as a netbook, but that sucks.

Any other suggestions?

Samsung Pay not available in Samsung S7 Edge

Ok, so I have a Galaxy S7 Edge, model G935F and unrooted, and I can't use Samsung Pay on it. It's nowhere in my apps and when I use Google Play on my browser it says it's not available in any of my devices. Does anyone know how can I use it ? Also, I have the latest firmware installed.

Zenfone 2 sim card slots not working proper after recover from brick.

I recovered from a brick using WW_ZE551ML_2.20.40.184_20160504.raw but after my sim cards were not working. after a bit of fussing around sim 2 will detect but sim 1 refuses.

I then tried to flash to custom rom (AICP - 11.0 - MM 6.0.1_rXx) same problem!.

Please can someone help. My bootloader still shows the 123456 etc serial number and unknown bootloader version; hw version - ; sining ? ; secure boot ?

not sure if thats what is causing my problems.

I am trying to get the Xposed Framework installed on my HTC One M9 but I am having troubles with some things that I'd really appreciate help with.

I downloaded XposedInstaller_3.0-alpha4.apk (http://ift.tt/1BzIZk8) and also xposed-v86-sdk23-arm64.zip Framework.
I installed the Installer and then rebooted to flash the Framework, when TWRP is installing the Framework it reaches "Placing Files" and then my M9 reboots. Sometimes my phone reboots normally but the Framework has not installed or it gets stuck when booting and never properly boots. My IMEI, IMEI SV and IMSI are still all there but I cannot get Framework to install.

Second Attempt: (IMEI, IMEI SV, IMSI and Signal gone) (SuperSU 2.62)
I downloaded Android Revolution HD 20.0 (http://ift.tt/1RjJ0hv) and Installed the ZIP as well as using the data wipe option in AROMA before installing. The phone will Optimize apps and start up but now my IMEI, IMEI SV and IMSI are all uknown or blank. I tried "adb fastboot writeimei <my imei number>" but when I rebooted the phone the IMEI was still unknown. However with Android Rev installed I am able to install the Framework.
When I use TWRP to install the same Framework it reaches "Done" in the log (No premature reboot) and I am able to clear the caches and reboot, the phone optimizes apps and then boots up but the IMEI etc. is still unknown.
I tried flashing the latest radio version (3.35.401.12) for International (http://ift.tt/2aslOhQ) to my phone but it doesn't get any signal and the WiFi, IMEI, IMEI SV and IMSI are still gone.

My goal is to have Xposed Framework installed on my phone so I am able to use the Modules.
The closest I have gotten to achieving this is through installing Android Rev and installing the Framework successfully, but without the IMEI etc. and signal.
The first attempt way I can't get Xposed Framework to install but IMEI, IMEI SV, IMSI and signal are all fine.

I'd greatly appreciate any help, I have been trying to successfully root my phone with Xposed Framework installled for 4 days now, countless soft brick, countless restoring...
Any more information required, ask and I'll post up asap.

Blackscreen after restarting?

Hi guys,

so I restarted my HTC after it didn't recognize my sim and didn't have mobile internet enabled and after that I saw the HTC powerd by android booting screen and from that it just goes to blackscreen (a little bit brigther than when power is off so I know its on) and the phone heats up like crazy but I can't do anything aynmore. I can't just turn it off the only thing that works is pressing the power button and the volume button up at the same time but then it just reboots and goes to blackscreen again. When the phone is in that "black screen" mode and I connect it to the pc I hear the connection sound from a usb device but the htc one m8 is not recognized ._.

I googled but found nothing, what to do? Is the phone dead?

Can't Downgrade from LOLLIPOP 5.0.2 using flashtool. please help

I had bricked my lg g2 which was running 4.4.2. i successfully got flashtool to reflash 4.2.2 and everything was working great. I was trying to go to 5.0 to play pokemon with root. So i updated the software OTA. When i got to the 5.0.2. the updated errored out when it was rebooting. Now I cant get and google services to work. i want to go back to kit kat now but the flashtool will not let me. every time i start it asks me if i want to cancel or retry. when i hit retry it doesnt work. And when i used to hit cancel it would start working anyway but it no longer works when i hit cancel either.

any help would be appreciated.

Camera not working on any ROM

hello,

I rooted my phone and had first flashed OctO MM 6.0.1 and the camera was not working. I even tried the apk flies but no luck.
I changed my ROM to 5.1 and the camera does not work on it either?
Any leads on how to solve this issue??

moto g2 dead battery problem

hi guys, help me out
i have unlocked my moto g2. and flashed custom rom cynogen MOD OS. it was working well..one day suddenly it started switching ON-OFF. at that time my battery was completely drained. and then i charged after that i entered fastboot mode and went back to stock os which i have been previously backed up. and i was doing the setup of stock os. then mobile suddenly switched off...
then again i tried charging it shows 0% only even after charging for 4 hrs. i tried pressing vol down+power ,but i am unable to go to fastboot mode...
please help me

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8013 : teamwin recovery not opening

I'm trying to load TWRP or any custom recovery on my above mentioned tablet but i'm just not able to load it. nor even boots normally. Only ODIN mode.
when i try recovery boot, a screen saying 'TEAMWIN' will appear shortly but soon closes and 'Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1' bootscreen comes up. I can only access ODIN(Download) mode and even tried to flash different custom recovery files and it says Passed but still again getting the same TeamWin screen loading in recovery mode and crashes in the middle and then bootloop happens.
Not sure whats the problem.

So i had abunch of cofee and stayed up screwing with this.

i haver never had any player that comes close to this onkyo app

the spp has a file (preset) it cantains 11 srrings with preset frquencids. each freq string had a gain value if (0)

The apps Eq let you adjust each up to a value of 12.
So i added Like 38 bands and spaced them closer at the bottom end.
Also the gain strings that were (0)
These strings Now have values like 1600,1700

Yeah, I am not kidding , i run it through my liittle Shark speaker snd is fricken Awaesome
Now i tried it on a stock unrooted Galaxy S5 without any equalizer or anything. I crapped my pants It scared m

i can onlg imagine if it was bluetooth to a fat Onkyo with a couple Velodynes.
Or maybe a car setup
It will make cheap bluetooth speakers sound more exoensive
But be careful.

Its a little weird since the app thinks theres 11 quiet bands.
once you get its gonna apply some gains even if you turn it off.
I havent trues manipulating the bands in tge apps eq inividually. I raise the whole bar at once Or one side or the other

I am gonna say it may use more Memory than most music players .Probably more juice too

Moto e 1st Gen Reboots while booting.

I unlocked and rooted my moto e 1st Gen mobile. Intially it was fine. But after few days when forgot to charge it, it switched off. Then when i tried to charge it, the phone keeps on rebooting. It means it reboots in the middle of booting. what should i do now?

Trying to unbrick Samsung Galaxy S5 G900F, keep getting "FAIL! (Size)"

Hi, sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, it's really late here.

So, basically what happened was I was trying to root my phone which I accomplished and then I tried to install Xposed but when I tried to update it - it wouldn't let me so I had to install the Zip files for it which I forgot. I couldn't update Xposed as it was grayed out. So, I used a program from the Google play store which I forgot the name of fire-something? and then it got stuck on bootup samsung screen and I couldn't get it off. I then looked online and you had to reinstall database to un-brick it. I've been trying to do that with Odin3 ver. 3.09 but it keeps failing with FAIL(SIZE) error and I don't know to fix it.

[Q] 3 years after "One Year Later"

I haven't been in here a while. Mostly because I rarely use my 32Gb (2012) N7 anymore; it is simply too painful of an experience. Typically I will pick it up for web browsing, but after the browser or keyboard hangs for tens of seconds for the fifth time in ten minutes, I feel like chucking it against a wall.

Don't tell me I need to free up some space; it has 25 GB of free space in /data

Don't tell me I need f2fs; I'm running CM 12.1 (20151117) / 5.5.1 with /data and /cache formatted as f2fs

I've filled (to within a few 100 MB) the device and deleted all those files; no real improvement.

So anyway - since I haven't been keeping up, I'm wondering if anyone had been able to shine some more light on what seems to be progressive degradation of eMMC write performance with use (independent of choice of OS, kernel, fs types etc). I suppose this is some sort of wear-leveling/write amplification thing but I can't say for sure.

I really liked this tablet for the first 18 months I owned it; I'm not trolling anyone here. Note that I don't believe this is a situation with faulty hardware (it never crashes or spontaneously reboots - eventually it always comes out of it's hangs (but maybe not for 30-40 seconds). My device has just gotten progressively worse with time, to the point of unbearability.

Have there been any new developments or findings in the last several months?

Root Prospects for LG Leon w 5.1.1?

I've managed to root my Samsung TabPro w TowelRoot w/o tripping KNOX, and subsequently changed the ROM to a different/later stock version and successfully re-rooted after that. I've rooted a simpler pre-KNOX Samsung w ODIN and TWRP. Pretty easy to follow the directions for both. BUT, for rooting my low-end LG Leon running 5.1.1, I haven't found any attractive options. Looking at KingRoot convinced me that I do NOT want to go that route. All that to say that I'm no expert on rooting, but can research things and follow directions.

I've really appreciated the value of a rooted device with respect to getting rid of unwanted built-in apps, or at least keeping them from nagging me to update them. I'd like to have the same options with my LG Leon, but am NOT finding any credible approaches for obtaining root.

Any suggestions? I understand that a prior exploit that worked w 5.0.2 was patched, and so can't be used w 5.1.1. But, that was true for Samsung, and swapping out the kernel for an older, vulnerable one allowed me to root my TabPro w TowelRoot, and then restore the latest kernel w/o losing root. Might something like that be possible with my LG? I don't know enough to know how to put together something that could do that, only enough to be curious enough to ask if it could be done.

Just wondering. I'd really like to find a way to root this phone. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Service Menu/Engineer Mode?

Hello to the community!
I need assistance getting the Service Menu to work.
I followed the S6 instructions:
Goto /efs/carrier/hiddenmenu
Change to ON
Save and reboot
Dial *#0011#

Now a menu does come up, but it's blank (see attached pic). Am I missing something? Please help!

P.S. I've tried Phone Info app, doesn't help a bit

S7 rooted battery life not too impressive.... how do I get it better?

OK, I have an att galaxy s7 g930a rooted phone. If imy out and about and not by an outlet, my battery is dead by around 6 pm. I'm not really a power user.

Immediately looking at better battery stats which it says since boot, system used 24%, and next is wake lock 6%, then kk launcher at 4%.

For battery optimization, I keep the phone in power saver mode. I also have juice defender ultimate and I run it in balanced mode. I have the setting unselected so the phone does not sync constantly for new emails etc.

Note 4 eMMC

So I had been having software issues with my note 4 and it all makes sense now never had problems flashing etc, even trying to get the stock rom or the system partitions corrupting on their own well my note 4 finally died last night I kept trying to boot it and it wouldnt do squat but boot up to the Samsung galaxy note 4 logo before this happened if i tried going into recovery it wouldnt work, download mode didnt work it would say could not do normal boot ddi mmc read fail, so I have a completely bricked emmc on my tmobile note 4 anyways,

does anyone know where i can get an emmc chip for it? i found a kmr 210008m a805 emmc but it says its for the note 4 sm n910p/f it says it has firmware preinstalled on it would it work if i installed it on mine and flashed tmobile stock rom? would i have to reflash the pit and kernel?

Need a Blu Life XL rom

Hi! I am new to this forum and need help with pretty much everything here. Nothing I look at seems to support Blu Life XL and I need lots of help with flashing roms. I dont quite get how it works but my phone no longer properly functions beyond call and text. I need a new rom or possibly a way to flash a new phone's rom on (Is this possible??) I looked into this a bit but im dumbfounded at the amount of work you have to put in to learn this stuff and there are no real guides on the Blu Life XL, as its a really unpopular and unknown phone. I would love some help from everyone here and im eager to learn.

Data recovery after Water Damage

My Galaxy S6 recently took a dip in a lake and would not turn on. After trying to displace the water with 91% isopropyl alcohol and I tried to power on again, but no LEDs and would not bootup still. I disassembled the phone and tried cleaning the board with a toothbrush and alcohol to clean any corrosion and hope that my attempts to turn it on did not permanently damage any components. After the cleaning the LEDs turn on, but the screen seems to be damaged beyond repair.

At this point salvaging the phone is not a priority, some very important and irreplaceable pictures that were not yet backed-up are my only concern. Another XDA user suggested trying to install a custom recovery but ODIN keeps failing. I cannot tell you what the S6 screen is showing of course, even putting it into download mode is a bit of a chore.

Moto Z Force's TurboPower™: QuickCharge or USB-PD?

Does the Moto Z Force follow Qualcomm's Quick Charge standard or the USB-PD standard? I ask this because the TurboPower™ 15 charger outputs multiple voltages like QC standard; but the TurboPower™ 30 that comes with the Moto Z Force outputs only at 5V at a reasonably high available amperage of 5.7A, which look more like the USB-PD standard.

Additionally: which (if any other than OEM) wall and vehicle chargers available will optimally rapid/quick/turbo charge the Moto Z Force?

Last best ROM for this phone with most recent security fixes?

Given the age of this phone, I simply wanted to ask a question on the last, best ROM that brings this phone to the most recent Android version, and provides security fixes? The newest ROM I can find is the Carbon ROM: http://ift.tt/2aqrwRu based on 4.4.4, and is newer than the Virtuous ROM I have been using on this phone (4.0.3), as I believe that one of the most recent ROMS that supported TMobile wifi calling (although I'm now on Google FI). I don't use this phone as a daily driver, but I do try to keep it updated, and available as a spare.

Desire HD(unofficial cyanogenmod 13.0 20160730) and Linux file manager, MTP mode

Hi, I found the best file manager when I had been working in MTP mode on Ubuntu 16.10 alpha 2 as of 20160731 till now.
I experienced many troubles while using Nautilus file manager in Ubuntu GNOME desktop environment. Due to instablility of Nautilus I had to plug my USB cable in and out pc USB port several times, and since as a consequence of this operation gvfs-smb* daemon process occupied system process up to 99%, I had to manually kill the process by executing 'killall gvfsd'.
While I was testings ome file managers in turn, at last I found there was no above mentioned problem in MTP mode with pcmanfm. The same gvfsd process worked well with pcmanfm and once recognised, the connection between Desire HD and pc had been persistently maintained from yesterday night to today morning.

Amazon Fire Phone Weird Problem

Ill start from the begging. I rooted my amazon fire phone 2 weeks ago and installed xposed installer for an sdk 19 since the fire phone runs on update 4.6.1. All i installed from xposed was mock mock locations, pokemon go controller and an ad blocker. I rooted it with kingroot. Everything was running smoothly until today July 30th while i was messing around in snapchat my phone reset and started looping on the logo. I hardreset my phone and tried to factory reset it and i managed to factory reset it, but the phone kept looping on the logo. fearing id have low battery to try sideloading I decided to plug my phone to my wall charger and it worked and the phone booted up as normal, but whenever i take the charger off it goes back to looping on the logo and i have to newly factory reset it and plug it in to the wall charger for it to work again. I just now uninstalled kingroot and changed it with super sume and unrooted my fire phone , but it was to no avail, I dont want to admit im stuck, but Im running out of ideas, at most that think 9i can do is side load a stock adb for fire phone , but i have no idea where to properly do this, id appreciate some help

Issue after flashing 10g Stock - Black Screen

Hi guys. I have a factory refurbished AT&T E980 that had stock 4.2.2 on it when I got it. Assuming it was the last OTA that was pushed out. I attempted to downgrade to 10g because I was still learning the recovery options for this phone. I've since flashed most of the available JB builds with similiar results. From off, the phone will show the AT&T logo for a few seconds, then go to a black screen for several seconds. Then I have to hit the power button twice to bring up the home screen. There is no boot animation, but you can hear the accompanying sound. I seemingly cannot get any roms to boot, other than stock, as they all hang at a black screen, even after wiping/factory reset. I also cannot get any variants of recoveries to work, other than the CWM packaged with GPro Recovery. The TWRP included with that only shows a black screen with the back and menu buttons lit up, and the home button cycling through colors.
I've searched through the forums and haven't seen anyone experiencing this issue. My only clue to the problem is reading something about another LG phone that, once refurbished, came with updated display drivers that caused a similar issue. Here.

Any insight would be appreciated.

[Q] HTC 10 carbon grey logos

Hi everyone!

Sorry that I'm late for the party,, but better late than never! I'm from UK and I'm planning to buy a HTC 10 carbon grey variant this week from HTC UK website. I just wanted to know one thing - Are there any logos at the back of your device other than the HTC logo? I've seen few devices with completely clean back (with only the HTC logo in the middle) and others with the CE number and other information at the bottom. I was wondering if its related to carriers or all the new devices (including the ones from HTC website) coming now sports such a logo at the back. I know that this logo is present due to the non-removable back cover, but from the pictures I've seen, these logos take away a bit of its beauty. But still, it's a great device. Just wanted to make sure of this detail.

Small Area of the screen "sort of" unresponsive.

My girlfriend's G4 (VZW) has an odd problem. A small area of the screen is "sort of" unresponsive. She first mentioned that she can't send messages via hangouts or SMS, "The send button doesn't work." After further inspection, the small area of the screen where the send button is located doesn't respond to touch (it works if you minimize the keyboard and the send button moves to the bottom of the screen. Another example is I can't toggle checkboxes in a list if they are located in that area.

I thought this was a straight forward broken screen issue, but the screen actually does detect the touch. Under developer options I enabled "Show touches" and "Show touch data". When I press that area of the screen, the visual feedback does show up. If I drag my finger across the area the trace shows up fine (no dead zone). When I select "Show GPU view updates" it shows a red rectangle in that area of the screen, indicating something is going on there.

Any one have an idea what could be going on?

Restore Download mode from Fastboot

Hi,
I have a d415 that i booted into fastboot mode with and wanted to unlock bootloader with. I then found out that it was already unlocked. Now i would like to restore download incase i screw anything up. I have the laf.img. Where do i go from there? None of the commands i type in fastboot mode work, possibly because i didn't correctly install the fastboot and adb drivers. If that is the problem, can someone give me clear instructions on how to download them, thanks. Instead, i used the basic adb and fastboot files from a different thread from android sdk. Adb doesn't even work anymore for me now. Please help

Replacement Battery

Has anyone found a good replacement battery for the MAXX? The original bit the dust after about 2.5 years. I replaced it with "new" old stock battery which was not much better. It was about the same age as the one it replaced and was not much better. I bought an Onite battery from Amazon. Its better than the "new" old stock battery but not nearly as good as the one that came with the phone. The Battery Monitor Widget app shows it's capacity at 2500maH not the 3500maH that the original had.

Is there a reliable aftermarket battery supplier out there??

Hi all. I put my ze551ml into recovery mode and hit wipe data 55 my minutes ago. It has not yet completed. How long does this process take? This seems too long. Even wiping cache only too 15 minutes. Any ideas? Thanks.

Blu studio 7.0 ii soft- bricked i believe!

Ok so i rooted my blu studio 7.0 ii everything was fine, i slipped up and didnt do a back- up like a dummy the root i used was King root and then i wanted an app but it wasnt available for my version or compatible so i youtubed how to by pass that it suggested to download j rummy build prop editor and use samsung and GT-I9100 on build product and and device name and so forth then restart your phone which i did, and it worked no problems , then i went a step to far and turned on selinux mode and edited stagefright on it or something and rebooted it then it was bootlooped to recovery mode, nd that selinux was enforcing policy everything was null and when it checked all the files system check failed is what it stated, so then i flashed blu studio 6.0 firmware on it thinking that it would help but it didnt now it wont boot at all i need some help on how i can fix this my self seeing as it says modified on a system check so i think that voids my warranty

LG G4 H811 bricked? How to recover?

So at first- i backed up all my data on my microsd (and actually- still have it using the LG Backup app included with the phone.)

I didn't even flash a new stock, already had a gsm unlocked device, so i did adb fastboot, unlocked bootloader, installed twrp properly, and pretty much recovered all data after first time booting into the cleared stock Android Marshmallow version (20i.)

The device was now stuck in a boot loop and I could only get into TWRP recovery. So I downloaded the stock flashable zip and flashed it and now- nothing. the screen was black upon reboot. I tried plugging it in, computer is making confirmation sound like a usb device was recognized but nothing pops up. How exactly do I unbrick and get back to stock? I have all my main data still backed up on my microsd.

I just had my Mi Max today. I did a research and saw that Mi Max would receive 3g service with T-mobile. My phone just happened to be on Edge, no 3g or H+. What cause the problem ? Trying to recover photos on soft-bricked phone

Hi all,

This is my first post here, I'll try to include everything but please let me know if I am missing any info. I'm using Windows 10, my phone is using Stock ROM 6.0.1, carrier unlocked from Telus to Rogers but bootloader shows device is Locked.

TLDR: I'm trying to recover the photos from my soft-bricked phone before doing a factory reset. I've tried to manually flash the firmware with fastboot by following the steps in service.xml, but the commands all appear to return OKAY without errors but there's no change in the phone's behaviour.

More Info: I've spent the last 2 days reading up on here and elsewhere online to learn as much as I can. I am honestly not sure what caused it the soft-brick. I was using my phone normally yesterday morning when it froze while browsing Facebook, so I tried to power it down, but I got caught in a bootloop and it wouldn't go past the logo screen. It's part of my morning routine to run updates, and I often (though not yesterday) transfer files to/from the phone through a USB cable, so could it be an internal memory problem? Other possibilities, while I was careful ultimately I did download an apk for Pokemon Go before it was released in my country, and I did also download a battery saving app, so there's risks from both of those but the timing seems wrong...

I can get into bootloader and recovery mode, but not factory mode. Wiping the cache partition did not help. The only way to power the phone down is from bootloader, otherwise the phone goes straight to the logo screen.

I've installed ADB/Fastboot using the 15 Second ADB Installer here, and believe I have all of the correct drivers from the WinDroid install. However I did not enable USB Debugging before this happened, so the only way I can get ADB to see the devices is to go to "Apply update from ADB" in recovery mode, but running "adb devices" brings the phone up as sideload. If I'm in bootloader, "fastboot devices" sees it, "adb devices" comes back empty.

I used the file XT1563_LUX_RETCA-ROGERS_6.0.1_MPD24.107-52_cid14_subsidy-RGRCA_CFC.xml.zip from the File Factory folder, and it looks right according to the software version in the .xml files, but I'm still new to this and I'm not sure if my best guess is educated enough.

In general I'm not too squeamish about voiding the warranty and don't care about losing my apps, it's the photos that I really do not want to lose (shame on me for not backing those up!). I'm wondering if there's a way to get my photos back before unlocking or doing a factory reset, but if there's a reliable recovery software I can use after the fact I may have to bite the bullet.

Perfomance Test (Stock OS, CM 12.0, CM 12.1, Remix OS 2.0)

I have done some performance tests with each operating system MOJO and have concluded that the best without a doubt is the STOCK (4.2.2) followed by CM 12.1 (5.1.1), but unfortunately does not work in Google Chrome the latter.

Clearly you can see in the video that the stock software not only makes the fastest test, but goes more smoothly and with much final score in both CPU and RAM, I dedicated myself to try a selection of native Android games as well as other popular emulators (PSP, N64, Dreamcast) (which left for another video), games are fluid while lowering FPS Lollipop present and veery little support them, such as:

Something I could also see is that the STOCK is the only one that allows you to record the screen console with internal audio included and up microphone, you have the option to set the HDMI (720p, 1080p, 2k / 4k and Auto) and control volume.

A minor inconvenience that introduced me REMIX OS 2.0 is that the internal storage starting to fill for no reason (or at least apparent reason) and no way to solve this problem.

I take this opportunity to mention that Towelroot v1 and does not work in STOCK, so to follow in the footsteps of Root of SuperMoDaCo (Superboot)

G928G ZTO in Trouble

Hi there,

I have a G928G and was using it with Audax 7.1. Did a dirty flash to 8.1 and things started getting south... The device would hang or reboot from nothing from time to time and now it keeps rebooting from bootanim.

To make a long story short, I decided to go back to stock. Flashed a stock rom I had in my hadrddrive (G928GUBS2BPD1_G928GZTO2BPC3_G928GUBU2BPC1) through Odin but... to my surprise, it didn't solve the problem! I even went to the bootloader, wiped everything and reflashed through odin. Same thing, it keeps rebooting from boot animation.

Any ideas? Suggestions?

What would it take to reflash everything froms cratch (modem, firmware, re-partition etc etc)? Is it possible? I just want to rule out any glitch or corruption the device might have...

grand prime, help me not be stupid

i just got a grand prime sm-g531h and I rooted it and well....it just says Samsung and that's it...it will go in recovery mode and it will go into download mode so I think its not to far gone....but my recovery mode is teamwin....I go to reboot menu and it says no os installed...I just wanna go back to normal..its a unlocked phone...idk what region it is so I'm not sure what rom to download cause all the roms have different regions...maybe someone can help me fix my mistake...the ssn is g531hdsgsmh and the imei is MOD EDIT ON esn if you need either of those...just help me what do I do???

Power button responsive in bootloader and recovery

My phone powers on and off fine. However I can't boot into recovery or bootloader by using the volume+power buttons. the phone just starts normally. I can get into recovery using adb command and the volume button can cycle through the selections but the power button is unresponsive so I can't select anything. Not a hardware issue but I don't know why it isn't working. Can anyone help please?

Xposed binding for Xamarin

I have spent almost two weeks trying to get the bindings for Xposed framework for a rooted android phones to work.

I'm not sure how to handle that in Xamarin. I also am having issues getting the full class path to hand off to Xposed in the "assets/xposed_init" file. I think it's because Xamarin appends a md5 before the class name. So it says class not found. I'm also guessing that the class needs a native call wrapper since it is called by the framework but all I keep getting is errors. Any help would be appreciated, it's a really small library but it enables so much.

Does Remix OS for tablet have kernel supporting USB OTG and charging simultaneously?

I have Chuwi Vi8 that dualboot Windows (8.1 & 10) and Android.

I have OTG hub that can charge and use OTG simultaneously that work with windows. But not working on Android.

I read that this is because Android kernel does not support this simultaneus charging action.

My question, since Remix OS has it owns kernel. Does Remix OS kernel support this OTG and charging at the same time?

If it is, might be fun to install Remix OS in my tablet. Or did I misunderstood kernel? Perhaps kernel is something unique in each tablet?

Softkey is not working...

Hi, my hardkey just broken, i cant press home, back and recent apps button. This recently happen after i replace my screen because the old screen is dead.
So maybe i can solve it by just enabling softkey via build props

But i was wrong, after i enabled it, i cant use it! When i press the softkey nothinh happened!

So then i decide to flash cyanogen mod 13 and enable the softkey again.

still no luck, i cant press the softkey.

Is softkey is related to my phone hardware? how do i fix this?? thank you

I am considering making a very detailed guide on how to build a Samsung kernel. I'm talking about from A-Z....

But, I want to see who is interested in this first. If it's just 2 people who want to learn then it's a no go. The guide will take me hours to complete if not a couple of days...
