I've owned the Bravo for a few months its been soft bricked most of that time so this is my noob level method of unbricking it always.
Firstly download PB99IMGgg4.zip and rename it to PB99IMG.zip then place it on your SDcard and boot into hboot mode apply the update and reboot back into hboot mode and go into recovery if all went well you should be on CWM 5.8.0.x touch if not use fastboot to flash recovery (I faced a similar issue when my device wouldn't install zips with this method so I tried a new hoot and success). So ladies and gents seriously you can never brick this phone hard enough for you to whine about it.
If you have HBOOT bugs try going back to stock hboot attached below.
